FAQs

Who is the typical Apprenticeship Program Applicant?

Most applicants are high school or college graduates who have had a vocational ministry calling confirmed. Having already completed an intern experience, applicants are committed to serving in vocational ministry while pursuing seminary or other related educational programs.

What else would be good to know about the Apprenticeship Program?
What if I’m not sure about my ongoing education?

Let us know that during the interview process. We may have some ideas for you!

What is the application process?
  1. Start a conversation to see if you’d be a good fit for the program.
  2. Apply to the program
  3. Complete an initial phone interview and any potential follow up interviews.

How much money will I receive as an apprentice?

We want to invest in your future as a church leader! During the interview process, you will be given a stipend amount for your educational program. For tuition reimbursement, when you complete a class submit documentation for credits and grades earned in your approved program. This reimbursement would be in addition what you would receive if you are a paid part-time or full time employee.

What do I need to do for tuition reimbursement?

Your stipend amount and educational program will be discussed during the interview and placement conversations. After faithfully completing your course,  submit grade and credits documentation and if approved, we’ll issue a timely reimbursement.

Will I be paid for my work at Crossroads?

That’s a conversation! We support and develop paid and unpaid apprentices, just as we do so for paid and unpaid staff team members.

What happens if I have a class during programs or events in my ministry area?

Ministry supervisors will work with you to support your educational program and your hands on ministry experiences. We’d like to see you earn at least a 3.0 GPA in your approved program and encourage you discuss conflicts proactively to support your team.

What happens when I finish the Apprenticeship Program?

With years of ministry work experience, a seminary or related degree, and a variety of relational and leadership skill sets, you will be a valuable asset to a church on mission to lead people to life-changing faith in Jesus Christ!
