Our professional counselors provide Christ-centered, relationship-based counseling for children, teens, adults, couples, and families dealing with a wide range of issues including:
- Anxiety/ Stress
- Depression
- Emotional Issues
- Marriage /Pre-marriage
- Divorce
- Grief/ Loss
- Parenting
- Identity Issues
- Loneliness
- Life Direction
Our counselors are committed to serving you or your loved one using a wide range of proven professional, biblical, and clinical tools. Wherever you are in your relationship with God, our counselors can help you find purpose in suffering and move toward wholeness and health. Our counselors respect their clients’ confidentiality and ensure your privacy by adhering to the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) code of ethics.
In addition to in-person counseling sessions we also offer online counseling. In addition to being a convenient option that provides you or ones you love with the ability to connect with a counselor from the privacy and comfort of your own home, it may be a preferable option for:
– people living in remote areas
– people who are limited in their ability to make an in-person appointment due to family/work schedules, transportation issues, or who have physical/mobility issues
– college students who would like continuity in their sessions while traveling back and forth from school
Our counselors use a simple web-based service called Zoom which clients to communicate through verbal and nonverbal communication. Many clients are surprised with the ease of transitioning from in-person to on-line counseling.

That’s a great – and important – question. Everyone deals with stress and struggles as part of normal, everyday life. However if someone you love is dealing with a distressing issue that is regularly or dramatically interfering with daily life – and you are not equipped or feel inadequate to help them create positive change – you may want to encourage them to seek professional help.
Crossroads counselors have the professional training and experience needed to help people who have intense, long-lasting or distressing emotional needs that require more care than family members, peers or friends are typically able to offer. Our counselors can provide dedicated time, accountability, and practical tools to help your loved one understand and address root issues or the impact of past experiences to create new, healthier beliefs and habits going forward.
If someone is threatening to hurt themselves or someone else immediate intervention is critical. Please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room to receive medical care; you can also email us at counseling@crossroads140.com so we can pray with you and determine how Crossroads Counseling Center may be able to play a role in you or your loved one’s recovery.
Email counseling@crossroads140.com and in your email include:
- the type of counseling you’re interested in (individual, couples, marriage, or family)
- your contact information
- if you are requesting remote (telephone or video-based) sessions due to school, work, childcare or travel considerations
If you do not have access to email, please call Crossroads Church at 443-487-4002 and request assistance in emailing Crossroads Counseling.
The Crossroads Counseling Center Director will assign a counselor to work with you. The counselor will be selected based upon a variety of factors including what issues you’d like help with, availability, and counseling goals. While you may specifically request a counselor, a different counselor may respond to your email.
It generally takes a week to process requests for counseling and to schedule a first appointment. Once you have emailed us at counseling@crossroads140.com, your individual counselor will reach out to you to schedule your first appointment and discuss what you can expect at that appointment as well as what you’ll need to bring.
We offer both in-person and remote (telephone or video) counseling sessions. In-person sessions are held at the Crossroads Counseling Center which is located within the Westminster campus of Crossroads Church: 895 Leidy Road, Westminster, MD 21157.
Please download the following items from this web page. Complete them and bring them to your first session:
- Appropriate intake forms: Adult or Child
- Crossroads Counseling Agreement Informed Consent Signature Page
- Credit Card Authorization Form
- No Show & Late Cancellation Policy

- Signed Privacy Statement for Couples and Families (if applicable)

Both parents or legal guardians are required to be at the initial counseling session for a child or minor. It’s important for both adults to attend in order to optimize the counseling experience, acknowledge each other’s informed consent, and support the child in the counseling process. In addition to the required paperwork you will need to bring appropriate custody documents (if applicable).
Counseling sessions are generally 50 minutes in length.
Client confidentiality is of the utmost importance at Crossroads Counseling Center. The only situation in which your personal information would be shared without your consent is:

Payment is due at the beginning of each session. Crossroads Counseling accepts cash, checks or credit card. Checks should be made payable to Crossroads Counseling. Please also list the name of your counselor on the “Memo” line of the check. Accounts must be kept current in order to continue counseling. Please note that there is a $2 processing fee if paying by credit card. We are unable to accept health savings account (HSA) cards as a form of payment.

Crossroads Counseling follows the Carroll County Public School (CCPS) system regarding closing for inclement weather. Cancellation fees will not be charged if the inclement weather policy is in effect.
If the CCPS school system is closed but Crossroads Community Church’s offices are open, your counselor will contact you individually to see if you are still interested in having your session.
No! While we are committed to providing Christ-centered counseling, we understand that not everyone identifies with the Christian faith. Our counselors are sensitive to and respectful of each client’s belief systems.
